Multiple attempts, best grade, and weighted average

Multiple participations

An activity can allow a person to participate more than once. The submissions list can group the attempts of the same person to facilitate tracking.

Grade shown in the summary

When there is no weighted calculation, the grouped summary uses the best grade of completed attempts. If the configuration activates the weighted average and there is more than one completed attempt, the system applies the weighted calculation to the attempts in chronological order.

Pending grades for open questions may cause the overall result shown to be provisional or updated after grading.

Important: the grouped grade does not replace the individual record of each attempt. Open the corresponding attempt if you need to review the content, the delay, or the specific grading.
