Introduction to interactive adventures

An interactive adventure is an experience where the participant’s decisions can change the path and situations they encounter.

In a standard quiz, the questions are part of a predefined sequence or set. In an adventure, one answer can lead to different scenes and consequences.

  • Scenes: present a situation, a question, or information.
  • Transitions: connect scenes and establish when to move from one to another.
  • Starting scene: defines the starting point.
  • Final scenes: close the different paths.
  • Graph: visually represents the scenes and connections.

They are suitable for simulations, decision making, professional training, case studies, interactive stories, and escape rooms.

To start, it is preferable to create a short adventure with few clear decisions, and expand it once the paths have been tested.
